What is Genius Cloud?
It's a new service for Genius Scan to back up your documents in the cloud and to keep them synchronized between all your mobile devices.
How much does Genius Cloud cost?
Genius Cloud is available as a subscription for $2.99 per month (billed monthly), or $29.99 per year (billed yearly). You can subscribe directly from the Genius Scan application with an in-app payment.
Is Genius Scan+ included in Genius Cloud?
Subscribing to Genius Cloud also enables the Genius Scan+ features to all devices connected to your account.
It is possible to activate the premium features of Genius Scan+ without a Genius Cloud subscription. In this case, the upgrade only applies to one platform.
What is synchronized?
All documents are automatically saved and synchronized between all your logged in devices. Changes made to documents are also synced with your Genius Cloud account, namely:
- corrections to cropping, dewrapping and rotation
- edits to image enhancement
- changes of page formats
- file renaming
- page ordering
- document tagging
If, for some reason, your documents don't appear up-to-date on a device, check your Internet connection and press the sync status in the top bar of the Documents screen to force the synchronization.
How much storage space do I have?
There is no storage limit in place at this time, and we don't intend to put hard limit. You can use the service reasonably without worry.
Why do you charge for that?
We haven't raised money and we don't plan to sell our company to Facebook, but we plan to be here for the years to come. And let's be honest, there is no free lunch.
Your subscription pays for the costs of developing, maintaining and supporting this service. It also covers the costs of the servers used to transfer and store your documents. Besides, it allows us to work on future products and services that we make at The Grizzly Labs, such as PYFL, Genius Sign and Genius Fax.
Is this compatible with other storage services?
Yes. With Genius Cloud, you can still export your documents to other apps such as Dropbox and Google Drive. You can do so manually for each document, or enable Auto-Export to automatically send all your scans and edits in real-time to your desired cloud storage.
Is Genius Cloud required to have my documents backed up?
No. On iOS, your documents are backed up as part of the entire phone's iCloud Backup. On other platforms, you can use the manual backup option.
Genius Cloud is also a synchronization service that runs in the background to save your documents automatically. It makes your documents safer and more accessible.

I have iCloud Backups. Why would I need Genius Cloud?
- Genius Cloud let you synchronize your documents between devices
- Genius Cloud is multi-platform (in the near future, you will even be able to access your documents from the web)
- With iCloud Backups, it's all or nothing: if you want to restore a backup of your Genius Scan documents, you need to restore the entire phone.
Can you see my documents?
We may have to access your documents in order to troubleshoot issues with your backups or with the synchronization service. In any case, documents are transmitted securely between your devices (HTTPS) and our cloud storage where they are stored securely. We also have put a strong policy in place to respect your privacy.
What happens when my subscription expires?
All your documents are kept safely in your Genius Cloud account, even when your subscription expires. You can re-activate it from any anywhere by logging to your account on any device and renewing your subscription in one tap.
This way, you can synchronize your scans on an iPhone, forget about Genius Cloud and let your subscription expire. When you later want to access your documents (or if you lose your documents / phone), you can get them back logging into your Genius Cloud account on any device and simply renewing your subscription.
How do I change my password?
It isn't yet possible to manage your Genius Cloud account directly from the application. Just email us at email@example.com to request some help (password reset, email address change, account deletion...) and we'll gladly do that for you and answer your questions.
